DURBAN is only 20 minutes away. Ballito and Durban are the holiday mecca for most South Africans, offering an endless summer climate and a carnival atmosphere, blue seas, golden beaches and entertainment to suit every taste. It is truly one of the country's favourite holyday playgrounds.
Durban is South Africa's busiest coastal port handling cargo and passengers from all over the world. It is also a major industrial and trade centre.
The city has so much to offer that it is almost impossible to list all its places of interest. Attractions not to be missed by the visitor are the beachfront with its restaurants and amusement park offering fun for the younger generation and the aquarium, one of the best in the country, which gives a very interesting view of life under the waves. Durban harbour and yacht club are worth a visit and pleasure cruises or visits to the Maritime Museum are available.

The Durban Botanical Gardens is internationally known for its subtropical plants and orchids, and its rare collection of cycads. The Japanese Gardens has an enchanting atmosphere, and displays flowers, ponds and oriental designs. There are a number of interesting museums such as the local History Museum, Natural Science Museum and Camera Museum. The Snake Park on the beachfront has a large display of reptiles from all over the world.
The Umgeni Bird Park allows visitors to view indigenous and exotic birds at close range from walkways. Some temples and mosques are of interest and may be visited.
